וְאַתָּה֙ תִּשְׁמַ֣ע מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְסָ֣לַחְתָּ֔ לְחַטַּ֖את עַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַהֲשֵׁיבוֹתָם֙ אֶל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥תָּה לָהֶ֖ם וְלַאֲבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ (פ)
then hear Thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of Thy people Israel, and bring them back unto the land which Thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
Rashi on II Chronicles
and bring them back to the land For when they fall and are struck down before their enemies, they [their enemies] will seize what they can and will bring them into captivity to another land.
